1. My brother, Conrad and some of his friends 2 yrs. ahead of me, placed a cow in the high school building over the week-end, and our great Janitor, Mr. Dedmon quit for awhile. Our Principal, Mr. Huckaby wasn't pleased at all. Must of happened in '48. I'll bet Darrell Hodges remembers....
2. My friend, Jimmy Moody lied about his age, and went off to war. He was killed at Iwo Jima...
3. That was about the time a B-29 crashed just south of town...
4. Our football teams seldom won, wasn't for not trying, with coaches Patterson and Harris in charge. Do remember Clatie William's run around right end for 6 pts. and we won our only game that year against Pecos.
5. I went to Korea, and came home totally disabled with Tb, but I got well and went back into the Air Force, where I met my wonderful wife, Gretchen. (47 yrs., now)

As for teachers, there was lovely and young Jean Storey who taught Journalism, ran the "Tumbleweed", and coached debating. Can't forget Mr. Baze, cutting up pidgeons in his class (Gross !).
